A Long Awaited Post?

I’ve finally got pics of the apartment (better late than never).

It’s not done yet, the pics labeled “Paint job – Day 1″ were taken this evening. It should “done” in about a week. I still have more plans for the place but I prob won’t be doing that right now both due to the fact that this stuff is quite costly and because it would be nice to live there for a while without handymen running in and out all the time :)

I will add more pics from the ongoing work during the week and, of course, once everything is done.

On the Move

The contract is signed!
The apartment is mine!
The days are happy!

Google Maps

Pictures will come as soon as I can find them, there gone from the broker site. :(
If all else fails I’ll take a couple of pics of the apt. when I gain access to it on the 4th of January.

Midsummer Photos

Forgot to mention that the midsummer photos has been added to the gallery :)

Need Help with a Rhyme

Yesterday I finished Neil Gainman’s Stardust.
In the edition that I’ve got there’s also a prologue to Stardust; The Story of Wall.
It’s just a few pages but it’s about a girl who’s out on a field and sees a magpie land beside her. Then comes another one, and another one, and another one until there are seven of them.

It the book the girl remembers a rhyme that goes like this:

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for girls,
Four for boys,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told

As I read the rhyme I realised that that is also part of one of my favourite Counting Crows songs, A Murder of One. This got me thinking that they must’ve gotten the rhyme from somewhere and perhaps so did Gaiman, unless of course he actually wrote it himself, I find that somewhat unlikely though.

Since I can’t a find a good answer to this question on google (all I found there was people debating whether the rhyme went up to ten or not, something I seriously doubt the original rhyme does but that’s a different story) I’m now stretching out to you, my few, earnest readers in an attempt to clarify this. So the question is, who originally wrote this rhyme and how does it actually go?

A Penny for My Thoughts

How I wouldn’t love to have someone who could instantly type my thoughts at all times.

During the quite short walk from the subway to my residence I came up with several great topics to blog about. I even wrote half a blog post in my mind. Do I remember them now? No! I do remember the topic and the geist of the post I wrote in my head but I’ve forgotten the details and the details are what differentiates a decent blog from a great or even good blog.

I would love to have a monkey picking my brain 24/7 without me even knowing about it. I would love for him to be able to deliver a transcript of his findings in a digital format to me when ever I asked for it. How would that not make me famous? Not the monkey part but the thoughts on my blog part…

I’ve joind the dark side again

Sadly it is true.
I’ve opened a new facebook account. I realized that I need one…
I won’t be posting much stuff on it though, just the bare minimum.

Going for Green

I started a golf course last weekend and I’ll finish it this weekend.
Attending a course won’t make me a player or give me a green card but it’s a start, I hope to have the green card by midsummer :)
