Back From Greece
We’re back home again after 14 days of sun and fun.
It’s been two very good and rewarding weeks. We haven’t been doing much really.
A typical day for us started with an early breakfast at aroun 8 am. We had breakfast at the hotel and went to the pool directly after eating where we got ourselves a sunchair each and lie down in the morning sun enjoying the sound of the ocean and the warmth of the sun.
Sometime during the early hours, usually around 10am, we went for a swim in the ocean, atleast if the waves and currents allowed us to which they usually did. The water was probably somewhere between 23-25c which was perfect after being the in the sun for 2 hours.
Around 1pm we usually got hungry and had a toast and a beer by the pool.
After lunch we spent the afternoon with more sun and ocean water.
At a round 16pm we got tired and went up to the room and took a two hour nap.
After the R&R we sorted ourselves out for a night out including a shower, fresh clothes and a couple of beers. Around 8pm we went down to Platanias and took a walk on the main road until we found somewhere to have dinner. After dinner we were usually so tired that we simple went back to the hotel again. This being around 10-11pm. As you understand we’ve slept and relaxed a lot.
We did make two trips though.
We took a walk one day from Platanias to Chania. It’s a 13K walk and it was about 33c in the shade, which there wasn’t much of where we were. It took us about 3 hours to get to Chania and once there we were so tired all we could do was eat and get on the next bus back to the hotel. It was a beautiful walk though.
We’ve visited Knossos and Heraklion on a full day tour. I’ve acctuall been to Knossos once before but I was only 8 at the time so it was fun to be back again and see it from a new perspective.
I’ll upload all the photos later during the day so you just keep an eye on the blog as I’ll post an update as soon as they are all there.
