Australia Day 11 – Brisbane
We woke up late today, around 11 am. It’s just 10 pm now and we are headed for bed shortly. Yesterdays night out in combination with too little sleep for too long proved to be too much for us
We found a “beach” in Brissie today. It’s an artifical sand beach with a sea-like pool just beside the river. We are probably going to spend new years eve there. They’ll do two rounds of fireworks, play live music and show outdoor movies. There’s a non-alcohol policy there though so I guess we’ll wander off to a nearby bar when we get thirsty
We had dinner at a chinese restaurant in china town which is only one block from our hostel (yes really, they have chinese restaurants in china town here, it’s amazing). Great food and really cheap. We had three main courses and drinks for just $45 (250 SEK). Food in general is cheap here in Australia but this was almost free
I hope you guys will have a great new years eve. We’ll celebrate a couple of hours before you guys and I promise that I won’t think of you when your clock hits midnight, it’ll be 9 am here by then so I will hopefully be asleep with a steady hangover
That’s it for now, next time you hear from me it will be a new year with new opportunities and, hopefully, better wheather
